Anyway, after 582 FATEs, I'm done.

I had some lucky streaks - the best was 4/8/14, following this guide - basically, once I got my first, I waited until the following hour and moved to the next zone as described there. It went great (I obtained 5 within 32 FATEs), until it didn't. As you can see, I clearly paid for that luck thereafter :(

Later, I tried using this guide, which was why I depart from Outer La Noscea farming on 5/5/14 and head for other zones. That seemed to work as well, but then bombed when it came time for my final Atma, which took 185 FATEs. You can see notes for when I farmed Southern Thanalan during the specified time in the guide vs outside that time (just in case it dropped, to make note of if the guide's suggestions rang true after all).

Those are all just Golds, by the way. If I only got Silver in a FATE, I didn't count it. I also didn't count run-thru FATEs, if I happened to be in a zone and joined in. Basically, the above was focused on a per-zone basis after the first three, and I'd only track when I obtained Gold. Meaning there was likely far more than 582 FATEs.
